How to Join CACLL

The Canadian Association of Child Life Leaders (CACLL) will serve as the professional affiliation of Child Life Leaders in Canada by providing a forum for deliberating:
  • Child life professional philosophy
  • Child life professional theoretical base
  • Curriculum standards for academic and clinical training of child life professionals
  • Child life program standards
  • Child life ethics
CACLL Membership Criteria

To be eligible for membership in the CACLL, you must be a member of the Association of Child Life Professionals and be a Certified Child Life Specialist1 in good standing. Additionally, members must be the principal child life leader whose institutional or community role is consistent with the purpose of CACLL as stated above.
1 All new members who join CACLL after October 2012.

Privileges of Membership

  • All members will receive notification of meetings and information pertinent to the development and activities of CACLL
  • All members may participate in the annual meeting of CACLL
  • All members may participate in committees of the CACLL
  • Active members are eligible to vote
  • Active members are eligible to hold office and participate in committees of the CACLL

Members will:

  • Maintain current membership in the Child Life Council
  • Maintain certification status with the Child Life Certifying Committee
  • Assume personal responsibility for continuing growth and development
  • Seek consultation from CACLL members/others for situations beyond their scope of practice or knowledge base.
  • Practice in accordance with the Standards of Practice as recognized by the ACLP, the CACLL Constitution and Bylaws, and relevant legislation
